Great Wave 3D

I found a VR (Virtual Reality) version of Kanagawa Okinonoura, produced by NTT InterCommunication Center [ICC], which allows you to enjoy the world of the Great Wave, including its sound.

What is amazing is that the 3D texture image processing technology has succeeded in reproducing the texture of each fiber of Japanese paper.
In addition to this, the exhibition uses advanced technologies such as naked-eye VR (a device that allows visitors to experience virtual reality without goggles) and 3D dive theater (a device that allows visitors to experience the world of the work with their entire body as if they were immersed in the painting).

The resolution is extremely high, which means the data is heavy. This unusually heavy data is moved lightly and depth is reproduced. Realization of high-speed and lightweight communication technology.

Depth perception in paintings is extremely difficult to measure, so I was overwhelmed by the high level of technology in this work. I would like to read the code.
I will continue to look for papers... I was also curious about the skipjack jumping between the waves... (-:   They adopted the theory that it is skipjack fishing!
I imagine that if the walls are arced and the ceiling is round and covered with a dome theater, it will be more immersive because the corners are eliminated. I wonder if corners and flat surfaces are a must for projection measurement.
